# Open Source Platform Disclaimer The Kustom Checkout (KCO) module is available for integration on a range of open source e-commerce platforms. While we're committed to providing a reliable checkout experience, operating on open source means certain responsibilities fall on you as the merchant. This page outlines what's expected regarding platform versions, third-party code, and supported configurations. ## Platform Version Responsibility Merchants integrating the Kustom Checkout (KCO) module on open source platforms are solely responsible for ensuring that their platform and all associated modules are running a version for which Kustom has confirmed compatibility, as set out in the [Integration Guide](https://docs.kustom.co/contents/partners). Kustom does not warrant compatibility with platform or module versions outside those documented, and disclaims liability, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, for any malfunctions, errors, or performance degradation arising from the use of unsupported or undocumented versions. ## Source Code Access and Third-Party Limitations Open source platform environments grant access to source code within the merchant's systems. As a result, KCO module functionality may be affected by platform configurations, third-party plugins, custom code, or other factors outside Kustom's control. Kustom expressly disclaims all liability, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, for any disruption, degradation, or failure of functionality arising from such modifications, integrations, or third-party dependencies. Merchants are responsible for ensuring that their environment complies with the Integration Guide prior to going live. ## Official Modules Only The KCO module is only officially supported when obtained directly from Kustom's verified distribution channels. The open source ecosystem permits any party to develop and distribute modules independently of Kustom. Kustom makes no representations and assumes no responsibility regarding the performance, reliability, or security of any module not officially developed and distributed by Kustom. If you are unsure whether a module is official, contact [merchant@kustom.co](mailto:merchant@kustom.co) before deploying it in a live environment. ## Limitation of Liability To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Kustom assumes no liability for performance issues, service interruptions, data incidents, security vulnerabilities, or any other damages arising from the use of third-party or unofficial integrations, or from a merchant's failure to maintain a supported platform configuration. Such integrations and configurations are used at the merchant's own risk. Nothing in this disclaimer limits any liability that cannot be excluded under mandatory law, including under applicable data protection legislation. ## Supported Configurations If you are unsure whether your platform version or configuration is supported, consult the [Integration Guide](https://docs.kustom.co/contents/partners) or contact [merchant@kustom.co](mailto:merchant@kustom.co) before going live.
