Introduction

Nordisk e-handel is a powerful and flexible e-commerce platform that enables retailers to create a customized store tailored to their brand and target audience. With built-in integrations for business, POS, and shipping systems – plus an open API for full customization – we give e-retailers the freedom to scale on their own terms, backed by our expertise and technical support.

Step by step guide

All new Nordisk e-handel stores come with a demo version of Kustom Checkout (KCO) pre-installed. If you want to set up KCO from scratch, there are two ways to do this:

1. Automatic KCO Onboarding

Steps

  1. Log in to your Nordisk e-handel admin.
  2. Go to Order → Payment Methods.
  3. Start the onboarding process to begin the automatic setup with Kustom — your account is created, and Kustom Checkout is configured in your webshop with production credentials.
  4. Once the setup is complete, the payment method is activated with a standard configuration.
  5. Review your settings to ensure everything is correct — for example, selectable shipping methods and active countries.

Test your integration

To ensure the integration works correctly, go to your store and:

  • Add a product to the cart
  • Proceed to checkout
  • If everything is working as expected, the Kustom Checkout should load without interruption.

2. Manual Activation of Kustom Checkout

Steps

  • In your Nordisk e-handel admin, go to Order → Payment Methods.
  • Click “Skapa nytt betalsätt” to open the module for payment method settings.

Step 1

  • Give the payment method a name.
  • Define how it should appear on the order and in the order confirmation.
  • Other fields are not used for complete checkout solutions like KCO.

Step 2

  • Configure detailed settings for the payment method.
  • The most important setting is whether the payment method is active or not.
  • You can also define rules for when and for whom the payment method should be displayed.

Step 3

  • Choose whether the payment method should be linked to a provider.
  • Select Kustom Checkout from the list to access the relevant settings.
  • Enter the API keys from your Kustom Merchant Portal to connect your store to Kustom.
  • Kustom offers many configuration options, but focus mainly on:
    • Allowing business purchases via Kustom Checkout
    • Linking to your store’s terms and conditions page
    • Enabling or disabling the newsletter signup checkbox

Step 4

  • Choose which shipping methods should be valid together with Kustom Checkout.

Step 5

  • Select which countries the payment method should be active in.
  • Make sure your agreement with Kustom covers the countries you activate.

Once you save and have marked the payment method as “Aktivt” in Step 2, it will appear in your checkout.

Test your integration

To ensure the integration works correctly, go to your store and:

  • Add a product to the cart
  • Proceed to checkout
  • If everything is working as expected, the Kustom Checkout should load without interruption.
