Get started with Kustom Checkout for Vendre

Introduction

Vendre is a flexible, modular e-commerce platform that allows merchants to connect best-in-class solutions across their commerce stack. By enabling Kustom Checkout in Vendre, you gain access to a powerful, conversion-optimized checkout experience with leading payment methods built in.

Activation is handled directly in your store’s payment settings and completed through a simple onboarding process with Kustom.

Before you begin

Make sure you have:

  • An active Vendre e-commerce store
  • Admin access to your Vendre admin panel
  • Company and business registration details
  • Bank account details for payouts
  • A Kustom merchant agreement

If not already approved, create your Kustom Merchant Account. Apply for an agreement with Kustom by filling out the onboarding form at kustom.co via the Get started option located at the top right corner.

1. Enable Kustom Checkout in Vendre

Kustom Checkout is integrated as a payment option within Vendre’s checkout system.

Steps

  1. Log in to your Vendre admin.
  2. Navigate to Settings → Payment methods.
  3. Click Add payment method or locate Kustom Checkout in the available list.
  4. Select Kustom Checkout and begin the activation process.

This configures Vendre to show Kustom Checkout as an available payment option at checkout.

2. Provide Kustom account information

If you already have a Kustom merchant agreement:

  • Enter your Kustom API credentials (Merchant ID, API Username, API Password) in the fields provided in the payment settings.

If you do not yet have a Kustom agreement:

  • Proceed with the option to apply for a new agreement when prompted.
  • You will be guided to provide business and contact information needed to create your Kustom account.

The credentials are required to connect your Vendre store with Kustom’s payment services.

3. Complete KYC verification

Kustom will require you to complete Know Your Customer (KYC) verification before your payment methods go live.

Common requirements

  • Company registration documents
  • Proof of identity for responsible persons
  • Bank account details for payouts

Kustom will review and approve your application once all required information is submitted via the Kustom Merchant Portal.

4. Activate Kustom Checkout

Once your Kustom account is approved and credentials are entered:

  1. Enable Kustom Checkout in Vendre’s payment methods list.
  2. Save your settings.

The checkout will now be available as a payment option in your store’s checkout flow.

5.Verify that Kustom Checkout is working

Before launching live:

  1. Visit your storefront.
  2. Add a product to your cart.
  3. Proceed to checkout.
  4. Select Kustom Checkout as the payment method.
  5. Complete a test purchase.

Verify that:

  • The payment succeeds
  • You are redirected back to the store
  • The order appears in your Vendre admin

Using a low-priced product for testing is recommended.

Automated payment processing

After activation:

  • Payments are processed via Kustom Checkout
  • Refunds and transaction details are accessible in the Kustom Merchant Portal
  • Payouts are transferred directly to your registered bank account
  • Your Vendre admin will continue to receive order data as normal
